The Honda S2000 was a front-mid engine roadster sold by Honda from 1999 to 2009. The S2000 was launched to commemorate Honda’s 50th anniversary, with the ‘S’ standing for sports and ‘2000’ for the engine’s two-liter displacement. It carried on Honda’s naming convention of its roadsters from the 1960s, such as the S500 and S800. Until 2010, it held the record for the highest power output of any mass-produced, naturally aspirated (NA) engine car. Having neither turbocharger nor supercharger, it was capable of 124 hp per liter. The 2009 Honda S2000 got to as much as 237 hp, revving as high as 8000 rpm.
The 2009 model came with 17-inch aluminum wheels, which haven’t changed since 2004. Rated fuel economy took a small dip from the 2007 model. The 2009 model was good for 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. As with all models of its decade of production, transmission came in a six-speed manual. The interior's as good as it gets for any roadster. It came with leather-strapped steering wheels, deep-bolstered leather sport bucket seats, and a center console with two cup holders.
