The Acura ILX is a luxury sedan sold by Honda’s luxury division Acura since 2012. The design of the ILX was based on the ninth-generation Honda Civic. The ILX debuted in 2013 with a hybrid variant, the first hybrid vehicle sold under the Acura brand. Although it shares similarities with its Civic counterpart, Acura features Amplitude Reactive dampers for the ILX’s suspension. This takes ride comfort to another level.

The ILX came at a bargain price of $26,795, which was $1,300 less than the 2013 Audi A3. Three powertrains were offered, a 2.0-liter I4, a 2.4-liter I4, and a 1.5-liter I4 mild hybrid. With the largest engine, power maxed to 201 hp while fuel economy was a solid 31 mpg highway. The hybrid took a nosedive in output with only 111 hp but improved gas mileage to 38 mpg. With the CVT hybrid Technology Package upgrade, you got impressive entertainment features for its time. These included Acura surround sound, DVD audio Dolby Pro Logic II, and Acura’s Song by Voice feature.

The 2022 Acura ILX also comes at a relatively low price point for a luxury sedan. It starts at $28,395 and goes up to $34,295 with the Technology A-Spec. With the highest trim, you get 18-inch shark gray, noise-reducing aluminum alloy wheels and heated sport memory seats for the driver. Entertainment upgrades include a color screen with Siri Eyes Free, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, 10-speaker audio, and AcuraLink.
